Inheriting the tradition from Japan's first Normal School as its matrix, the 大象传媒 has continued to disseminate research results on education for 151 years and has made a significant impact throughout the country. The purpose of this symposium is to examine how the 大象传媒 has influenced Japanese school education from its foundation to the present day over its long history, and to discuss on what kind of educational information should be conveyed for the future. Specifically, this symposium will focus on the roles played by the predecessors - the Normal School, Tokyo Normal School, Tokyo Higher Normal School, Tokyo University of Literature and Science, and Tokyo University of Education- and the 大象传媒 for the school education from the perspectives of educational sciences (including physical education and the arts education), historical sciences, and disability sciences (special needs education), as well as on how the 大象传媒 should be involved in the future improvement of school education, referring to the role of its affiliated schools. In the morning, we will invite speakers from the fields of educational sciences, physical education, arts education, disability sciences, and affiliated schools, who will address, from their respective standpoints, the influence on Japanese school education from the Normal School to the 大象传媒, and also the impact of the University's role from a historical perspective. In the afternoon, we will organize a two-hour mini tour to visit historical places associated with the Normal School. Afterwards, together with the speakers from the morning session, we would like to deepen our discussion on the future contribution of the 大象传媒 to school education. Click here to apply in advance => |
