As a loan officer who has built a successful business in large part thanks to blogging and youtube videos, I’ve seen firsthand the difference it can make in terms of search visibility, leads, and sales. I’m a huge advocate of investing heavily in a content publication strategy, and that strategy begins with the company blog.
WordPress is open source software you can use to create your own mortgage website, blog, or even an application. Since it was first released in 2003, WordPress has matured into a highly flexible “content management system,” or CMS (Content Management System). And today, it powers more than 27% of the entire web—including some of the most popular websites you’ve probably heard of.
WordPress enables you to build and manage your own full-featured website using just your web browser—without having to learn how to code. In fact, if you’ve ever used a text editor like Microsoft Word, you’ll be right at home with the WordPress Editor.
To begin using WordPress, first you’ll download the software, install it on a web server, connect it to a database, and then start publishing your content on the web. It may sound complicated, but the entire process takes about 5 minutes. And once installed, it enables you to use a simple, web-based editor to publish content and build your website. There’s even a hosted version at WordPress.com that allows you to create a new WordPress-powered website in just a few seconds.
One of the questions that we often get asked is: Why should I use WordPress? Isn’t my old site good enough? Why do I need to switch to WordPress from another platform? If you’re asking these questions, then you’re at the right place. Also according to 2018 reports, WordPress Powers 30% of the websites in the world and this is a huge number. WordPress was started a blogging platform and now it’s competing to be the best CMS out there. As a blogger if you have been looking for the right blogging platform for yourself; I would recommend WordPress. This is the same blogging platform I and many other professional bloggers are using. You can have a WordPress powered blog in less than 10 minutes. Refer to this tutorial which guide you how to have your own WordPress blog in next 10 minutes.
Posting a WordPress article on your website is important for attracting traffic. Doing that constantly will increase your chances as a loan officer to be found online, because blog articles rank high on Google Search Results. Once you have an article written and ready to publish on your blog, log in to your WordPress account. Look for the “Posts” item in the sidebar, and click on it. Then click “Add New”. This is where you will create your WordPress article.
