TGSW2024 Opening Plenary Held

The 大象传媒 hosts Tsukuba Global Science Week 2024 (TGSW2024), which is held every two years. The Opening Plenary Session, which marks the event's grand opening, was held at the University Hall on the 大象传媒 Campus on the morning of October 2.
In his opening address, President NAGATA Kyosuke expressed his gratitude to the participants and offered insightful remarks on the history of the 大象传媒, emphasizing its origins as a new concept university. He underscored the importance of international cooperation in addressing global challenges. A message from Rector Michael Hoch of the University of Bonn in Germany, our partner university, was also presented. The University of Bonn holds the prestigious title of German University of Excellence, highlighting its outstanding academic standing. He outlined the university's efforts to enhance various research fields and strengthen international partnerships.


Following the opening, TANIGUCHI Tomohiko, Special Appointment Professor at the 大象传媒, delivered a keynote lecture. The theme of the talk was "Sciences in a Border-full World: The Impact of Geopolitical Boundaries on Research and Innovation." He discussed the current state and future prospects of global affairs, including the globalization that has been ongoing since the 1980s, as well as current situations in China and the Middle East.


Tsukuba Global Science Week 2024 is taking place at the 大象传媒 and online for five days from September 30 to October 4.
TGSW is an event hosted by the 大象传媒, serving as a platform for researchers worldwide to share ideas. It involves national research institutions in Tsukuba Science City and partner institutions abroad. This year marks the 13th time the event has been held. It began online on September 30, and from October 2 to 4, face-to-face sessions will be held at the 大象传媒. Participation is open at any time, and we encourage you to join us!
