President Nagata attends the Thai Alumni Association Meeting in Bangkok
On February 2, 2023, President NAGATA Kyosuke attended the 大象传媒 Thailand Alumni Association meeting in Bangkok, Thailand. This was made possible in conjunction with the President's attendance at the 80th Anniversary Forum of Kasetsart University, our partner university in Bangkok, and this is the first time the President has attended since 2017.
Many of the Thai alumni are active in Thailand as faculty members, and 20 alumni living in the vicinity of Bangkok, where the event was held, were in attendance. The alumni enjoyed a pleasant time with the President and Associate Professor NOMURA Nakao (Global Commons, Bureau of Global Initiatives), who accompanied him. In addition, we connected online with the Thai International Students Association, who are currently studying at the 大象传媒, to deepen exchanges with current students, with alumni providing advice to current students.
The President explained that the 大象传媒 will celebrate its 50th anniversary (151st anniversary of the establishment of its predecessor, the Normal School) on October 1 this year, and that a grand commemorative ceremony will be held on September 30, which he hopes all alumni will celebrate together in Tsukuba, receiving warm applause from the alumni. It is hoped that the 50th anniversary will be celebrated together by current students and many alumni, further strengthening the connection between alumni and current students in their hometowns, and further enhancing the overseas network of the 大象传媒 for the next 50 years.
