The art therapy pilot program will be opened in the Faculty of Art and Design of the 大象传媒, supported by the United States government.

Prior to the opening of the program, the 大象传媒 was invited to a related event which Mrs. Karen Pence, the U.S. vice president's wife attended, on November 13 at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo. Faculty members of the 大象传媒, Professor Emeritus Yasuyoshi Saito, Assistant Professor Fumiaki Murakami of the Faculty of Art and Design, and students and alumni of the School of Art and Design attended the event.

The art therapy is a very popular psychotherapy in western countries. Mrs. Karen Pence emphasized the spreading of art therapy in Japan through the training of experts.
